The very first A321 aircraft of Vietjet and the 9000th aircraft of Airbus coded VN-A651 landed in Tan Son Nhat international airport at 02:30PM today. This is the fifth aircraft from the order of 100 aircraft between Vietjet and Airbus. The new aircraft which was financed by BNP Paribas bank (France) and Jackson Square (Japan) has been emblazoned with the icon “Airbus 9000th aircraft”.
Earlier the aircraft delivery ceremony has been celebrated in Hamburg (Germany) in the witness by the Vice President of Airbus Mr. Nico Petersen and Vietnam Ambassador to Germany Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh. Representatives of Vietjet – Mr Dinh Viet Phuong, Vice President and Mr Nguyen Duc Thinh, Vice President.

The A320 single-aisle jetliner family is the world’s best-selling single-aisle aircraft family. The A321 Sharklets features wingtip devices and is upgraded to the widest passenger cabin in its class, and extended service intervals for the airframe. The stretched-fuselage A321 version can seat up to 220 passengers in a high-density arrangement.
Airbus is also bringing the benefits of increased maximum seating capacities to A321 Family operators, with further optimised cabin space and increased exit limits – all while retaining the company’s modern comfort standard. The new A321 will boost Vietjet’s fleet up to 23 aircrafts, meeting the expansion plan with longer haul routes to South Korea, Japan, and across the Asia Pacific region.
The very first A321 has placed a significant mark in Vietjet’s strategic business plan after three year operation. Vietjet has so far become one of the most popular airlines in Vietnam. With more and more new and modern aircraft, Vietjet will enjoy better operation of cost efficiency, and as a result offer better air fares to customers, meeting the plan of expanding flight network and contributing to the aviation development in Vietnam and in the region.
