Phoenix-Sky Harbor Int'l Apt, AZ 2015 MIL

Post by Joris Heeren »

Hi all,

Military aircraft noted in the morning of 30 April 2015 (seen from terminal 3):

ANG ramp:
57-1487 KC-135R 756ARS/AFRC
58-0058 KC-135R 765ARS/AFRC
59-1474 KC-135T 171ARS/MI ANG
(59)-1499/HH KC-135R 203ARS/HI ANG (hangar)
59-1505 KC-135R 151ARS/TN ANG
60-0322 KC-135R 72ARS/AFRC
60-0331 KC-135R 197ARS/AZ ANG
60-0359 KC-135R 74ARS/AFRC
62-3558 KC-135R 336ARS/AFRC
63-7984 KC-135R 106ARS/AL ANG
63-8035 KC-135R 106ARS/AL ANG

general aviation area:
... KC-135R nn (not 197ARS/AZ ANG, grey-ish tail fin stripe)
(62-3516) KC-135R 197ARS/AZ ANG special c/s
plus unknown four (4) more 197ARS/AZANG KC-135R's (of which one on the other side of the runway, close to terminal 3), and an all-white B757 (C-32B?) near the special tail KC-135.

It looks like some kind of non-active duty tanker meeting going on. All spots were occupied and the locals dispersed elsewhere on the airfield.

Anyone for the non-resident missing tanker?

Regards,
Joris

Hi,

See the log for Fort Worth as well. There were a LOT of tankers involved in this operating out of a few bases in the US. At a certain moment 30+ tankers were airborn at once!
