Cuba

Post by pvdk »

During a trip over the island we tried to spot some a/c. Very difficult as flying activities are very limited.

There are a lot of airfields with no activities. ( As someone explained : " there were no activities, there are no activities and there will be no activities" )

Seen on the small Sante Fé aerodrome on the 30st of mai: CU-T1173, T1175, T1811 and T1823 all AN-2 's belonging to ENSA= Empresa Nacional de Servicios Aéreos. Moereover some ten fuselages of AN-2's as wrecks.
At San Antonio de los Banos a MIG-21 serialed 1779 was mounted on a pole
At Guantanamo a MIG-21 MF serialled 541 was preserved in front of some militay barracks
At Santa Clara a MIG-21 MF was shown in a special c/s, representing the CUban flag. No serial

At Vadarero an AN-2, CU-T1804 of ENSA made several round trips for tourists.

What a score for a three weeks trip
