[REQ] Orange gateguards and stored Mirage

Post by Rabbit »

Hello,

I made a quick stop @ Orange on my way to Mont Ventoux last week.

When i drove past the fence (spot 3 in the airfield guide) is saw a Mirage (in bad shape). Probably stored or instructional? Due to heatwaves, not possible to read. Is there anyone here with te correct serial of this one?

Also i like to have an up-to-date list with gate-guards @ Orange. Because while reading off the preserved aircraft i was send away at the gate by a very nervous and unfriendly guy... The list in the airfield guide is not accurate, i think.

Thnx!
Cheers,

Jeroen

Hi Jeroen,
You can visit the museum at Orange AB on Tuesdays. You will get a tour along the jets on the poles, along the Mirage 4 on the lawn and into the small museum. Photography is allowed because this part of the base is old and not used by opertional aircraft anymore. Afternoon open from 13:30 and take your passport or ID card with you. Entrance is the police building 100m before the gate where you were send away, on your right.
