Question about spotting Wiesbaden AAF during weekend

Post by SniperEye »

Hopefully I'm posting my question in the right board. As I read the rules right than this post is okay. If not, please let me know.

Next weekend I will stay in the area of Wiesbaden. I am wondering if there are any movements of airplanes or helo's on Wiesbaden AAF.

Any tips for spottingplaces nearby?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Check the Airfield Guide on Scramble. All the places are there.

In the recent years I've been spotting there quite a number of times and what I learned is that when standing at a little distance from the fence there is no problem. Photos only taken into the sky (landing shots) and not at the field (through the fence) are allowed. Polizei checks are common. Some times they tried to send me away, but as I refused they let me (after a phone call with the police office)
On the south east side there is a small road used for farmers and as a cycle path. Do not drive your car onto it. The best is to parc it near the bridge crossing over the railway track or on the other side of the highway at the parking place of the mall. It is a cery little walk from there.
The west side can be accessed by car.

Many thanks for your advice. Because I'm no subsciber I can't see the Airfield Guide of this airfield. I'm willing to pay for advice but I don't want to subscribe. Unfortunately this isn't possible.

Are there any movements on Saturday? Or are they very rare on Saturday? Otherwise I will try to plan a visit on Friday afternoon.

Unfortunately there were no flight movements at the moment I was at Wiesbaden AAF. Within 5 minutes after I arrived at the spotting place at the Southeast side the police arrived. They stopped but didn't asked any questions. The police stayed until we left after 30 minutes.

It isn't easy for me to get a photo of the UH-60. Previous year I missed them on Leeuwarden. I think I have to do more investigation before I'm going to spot this helo.
