La 2ème Escadre de Chasse is one of the oldest units in the French Air Force. Therefor I thought it would be nice to show you guys the variety of slides I do have of this unit in my collection. I’ve choosen to spand the Dijon period only as for most of us this base was synonyme with EC2. It is not meant to be complete but just to show what I do have collected (credit to the makers) throughout the years.
Escadron de Chasse 1/2 "Cigognes" started flying the Mirage IIIE in 1968 and swapped it in 1986 for the Mirage 2000C and B. In 2000 the unit started flying with the updated Mirage 2000-5F. Traditions of three Escadrilles are worn on the tail with the selection below are that of the SPA 3 "Cigogne de Guynemer". 1. Mirage IIIE 462/2-EH on 16 June 1974. 2. Mirage 2000C 37/2-EU in August 1994. 3. Mirage 2000B 501/2-EQ in February 1991. 4. Alpha Jet E75/2-EM in July 1998. 5. Mirage 2000-5F 56/2-EG in October 2001.

ECT 2/2 "Côte d'or" the Mirage training unit started flying the twin-seat Mirage IIIB in July 1962. On 23 March 1972 the BE model was added on strength. The two-seaters were withdrawn from use on 20 June 1986 and replaced by Mirage 2000B and C. Also used for training purposes a couple Mirage IIIR’s were used from May 1983 till 20 June 1986. Beside the allocated code 2-F. the 2-Z. range was also used for a while. On 27 June 1986 ECT 2/2 lost its training role and became a regular EC and was disbanded on 7 September 2007 while its traditions were subsequently transferred to other units.
First of the three traditions of ECT 2/2 are that of SPA 57 "La Mouette en vol"
