Honington 1992

Post by dick loh vervallen »

In 1992 No.45 (Reserve) Squadron, the Tornado Weapons Conversion Unit based at RAF Honington changed its "shadow" identity to No.15 (Reserve) Squadron. With this unit the Royal Netherlands Air Force 316 sqn had a one way squadron exchange in May 1992. I was part of the party as F-16 crew-chief with this Eindhoven based training squadron and was able to photograph the following during our stay at RAF Homington.

1. 316 sqn F-16B J-369.
2. F-16A J-367 was borrowed from the Gilze Rijen based sister unit 314 sqn.
3. Tornado GR.1 ZA602/TX with dual marking of 15 (R) and 45 (R) Sqn.
4. Still wearing 45 (R) Sqn unit markings only was ZA559/559.

Never saw a lot of activity at Honington myself (apart from the time the F-15Es were here due to runway work at the Heath), but this looks good Dick! :respect:

Interesting topics you have! I enjoy reading the texts as well! Hope to see more, it makes up for my poor year in spotting a little bit ;-)
