Hi,
I am planning to visit RAAF Pearce in the comming weeks. Is there someone who can give me some information about planespotting in Australia?
Greetings,
Hans
Hi, The Scramble Airfield Guide is a good start, for R36 I go to the area just short of the runway on the approach and for R18 drive about 400mts on Rutland Road which is approx 2kms on the approach. R36 is the best option as R18 has trees all around and a radio is desirable so you can hear them coming! Be prepared for a visit from the Base Security at both locations, a copy of your passport would be good to have. Just tell them you're only taking photos of the airborne aircraft and no on base photos. They'll then leave you alone! I only take numbers of the aircraft I photograph as it is nearly impossible to see the flight lines. The RAAF tend to start flying 08:30 and the Singaporeans a little later. As there are 2 runways the circuits will be slightly different with the Singaporeans favouring the more westerly runway 18R/36L.hdehaan wrote:Hi,
