What a great base to visit! Pitty the locals didn't fly, but VFA-106 and the Atsugi boys were flying a lot. Still missing quite some numbers though......

BIG question here: Will they be flying on Saturdays? When we arrived at the field around 07.45 we just missed the first T-45s returning from their first morning mission  Pitty the F/A-18s didn't fly....

Then around 11 we moved to Yuma. Here the WTI was halfway it's flying phase, but again, no clue if they would fly on Saturday. First thing we saw was the CAG bird EA-6B taking the cable......... not a bad start so to say!

This was only what was flyinig. In total, there were some 90 visitors on the ground. But more about Yuma later.

After that we drove to Tucson for the AMARC, DM, Tucson part of our trip. On Sunday we did all from outside and went to PIMA museum. DM was open, as a C-17 came in and 2 MH-60s were practising with troops.

Early start of the morning as we had an 07.00 flight over AMARC. Very nice! After landing at Tucson, we taxied in along the F-16s. They started to fly around 08.00.

Anybody a clue for that 509BW commander a/c? It departed and we were unable to read it. Also that Boneyard01 F-16 was nice. No clue if it did a test flight, or was an arrival (we were at the wrong side at that moment).

As I was not sure what belonged to AMARC, or what to the arrival area, I did write down some serials of a/c that were in the area betwen DM and AMARC.

Again quite some open ends, so if anybody could fill in the gaps..... None of the visiting AV-8s flew, nor the MV-22s. But big package of (local) harriers, F-5s, F-18s and F-35s went out in the afternoon.

Then we had 1 more day and went to Nellis. Quite some interesting visiting a/c (ok, week later there was much more), but not that often that you see B-1B depart at 06.40 local ;-)

A lot of OTs flew this day. Big package in the morning and then around 16.30/17.00 (bit too late) they launched another 24+ a/c.

Then we went back towards direction of LA. As we had a flight on Friday 17.50 from LAX we decided to spend a few hours at March for the airshow arrivals.

This was the flying part. There were already some a/c present (C-5, RC-135, B-1B, B-52H) and also 4 SD ANG F-16s. Anybody for their serials?

Then our week ended. 7,5 days of spotting, a lot of aircraft and 4000km. All in all in good weather (except 15 min of flooding in the desert between Fallon and El Centro).

Any additions, remarks, or questions are more then welcome!

Great log!
I have not checked with our database yet but I think it will fill up some gaps.
A remark for now, the USMC codes read as SN and SM instead of NS and MS..:-)

Did MH-60R 166406 had any unit markings?

Cheers,

in your Nellis section:
OT F-35A 13-5072 is likely 13-5073. no 5072 here (Hill jet).
OT F-22s 06-0111 and 06-0120 would be 06-4111 and 06-4120.
F-16 WA 87-1307 would be 87-0307 (already listed) brown aggressor or maybe 84-1301 blizzard aggressor?
I've never seen OT F-15E 91-0315 (Lakenheath jet), maybe 92-0365?
OT 83-0026 is an F-15.

Thanks both!

EOR you're right on the OT F-35, just checked picture and it is 5073.
Also the others are as you said, will only (tomorrow) check on the 315 sighting.

Melchior, will check for you as well the MH-60 one.

First some sleep ;-)
