REQ: two questions regarding WK's in Switzerland

Post by SquAdmin »

I've got two questions about WK's in Switzerland:

1. In the old days, the first week of a WK would be limited to theoretical training without any flying. Is this still the case?
2. How about the flying schedule on Fridays: can you expect training sorties in the afternoons or will operations cease after lunch?

Experience from within said institution tells me that:

1. Highly depends on the type of WK. If things are all about training, expect a calm first week. Should there be a major event (WEF, Axalp etc.) attached to it, expect action to kick in fairly quickly, particularly from the Air Transport squadrons.

2. Apart from the WEF, expect hardly any sorties on a Friday afternoon. We tend to stick to our office hours, even in case of wartimes ... ;)
