Hello,
Last week I visited the Museo Do Ar in Portugal. There stood a preserved DC-3, with a different coloursceme on the left then on the right, and I can not figure out what DC-3 this is.
On the left it was painted in the TAP colours of the late 40's/50's. The registration on that side read CS-TDE, which is the same registration as the one painted under the wings.
The right side was in the paint of 'Direccão Geral Da Aeronáutica Civil', and carries the registration CS-DGA painted on the tail.
There is not much info to be found on TAP DC-3's, but I find these two sites: http://www.sr692.com/qualiflyer/tap/fleet/ and http://www.douglasdc3.com/portugal/port.htm
The first one shows pictures of CS-DGA, as it says with fake registration CS-TDA, in front of TAP building at Lisbon Portela. I was at Lisbon also but this DC-3 is not here, so maybe this is moved to Sintra, and given real registration CS-DGA back on one side and a 'new fake' one (CS-TDE) on the other?
The second one say that CS-TDE (cn 11675) is w/o februari 1959. So maybe not possible that this is really CS-TDE and that this is fake. Would confirm my first tought...
This site also says that CS-DGA (cn19503) is o/c october 1978 and w/o 1998. So where it go then? But then at remarks this say 'DGAC/TAP', and this is the right colours, but same remark says CS-TDA. So this, I guess, means that CS-DGA has been in front of TAP building from 1978 to 1998 as CS-TDA in TAP colours, and CS-DGA was original DGAC? Or that it was DGAC this time and then go in front of TAP building, and then go to Sintra?
But then I find this: http://collectingtap.blogspot.nl/2012/0 ... -dgac.html . And I can not judge date, but on last photo is Runway 35 sign, which must be Lisbon Portela. So maybe this is before it go to in front of TAP building, confirming CS-DGA is indeed ex-DGAC. Or maybe after, but then why this is in DGAC colours?
So if this is CS-DGA (cn 19503), it has been TAP colours with registration CS-TDA at TAP building at Lisbon 1978-1998, and then 1998-???? where it goes? Maybe then already at Sintra? Or if this is CS-TDE, where it go between 1959 and now? Not at Sintra all this time because Museo Do Ar is not at Sintra since 1959.
Can someone help me to confirm that the DC-3 (or C-47 or C-53) at Sintra is indeed CS-DGA and that CS-TDE is a fake registation?
Thanks in advance!
