This shows gives me mixed feelings. On the one side it is an opportunity to see exotic aircarft you normally never see. On the other hand you are supporting a very nasty devious regime. It feels a bit like visiting a german airshow in 1939.....

@ Wildlife,

I regret that you view this in such a negative way.
Although I personally do not support the North Korean regime, I hope my visit to this airshow is more comparable to visiting an East-German Airshow in 1988 (a year before the wall came down).

I don't remember nuclear tests being held in East Germany in 1988:-)
Answers will be questioned.....

I wonder if these remarks were also made while visiting the US during the Vietnam krieg.

Change in a country is a very slow process. As nobody expected in 1988 that the Berlin wall would fall in 1989. I sincerely do HOPE that relations between North Korea and the rest of the world will improve over time - and yes North Korea needs to change a lot of things before that is happening.

Ok, I guess also no more Saudi Typhoons or Tornado's then, or Pakistani F-16's (etc. etc.)? ;-)

I think it's an interesting dilemma in which there is no right or wrong in my view, just a choice.

Spotters/photographers have a different approach to military aircraft than others. Likewise, I watched the images from North Korea with great interest.

There is currently a topic running on the refurbished Sudanese MiG-23s. If I would catch one in front of my camera, I would certainly active the shutter. On the other hand, I would not mind at all if all these aircraft crash on their first flights (one already did so, I believe), before Al Bashir can do any damage with these aircraft, dropping chemical bombs in Darfur.
Hypocrite? Maybe it is. Like mentioned, an interesting dilemma (for some, that is :-)
