Spotting Switzerland - 1 May

Post by Richard de Florennes »

Hello,
does somebody now if 1st of May is a regular flying day for the Swiss Armed Forces, especially Payerne and Alpnach?
I now in some regions 1st of May is observed as a holiday, but not in the regions of Payerne and Alpnach according to various sources.
Any experiences, especially from our Swiss spotters in this forum?
Thanks in advance for any information!

Only Dübendorf is closed on that day. All other mil airports are active. Even Meiringen should be active although it is a holiday in the canton of Berne. http://www.vtg.admin.ch/de/organisation ... ingen.html But don't forget the reduced flight time on mondays (in the morning only from 1000-1200h).

You can always check at the Swiss military website if there will be activity.
Looks like Payerne will have a Wiederholungskurs with F-5s and F-18s in the last week of April and first 2 week of May
