Yesterday I saw US ARMY C-37A (97)-01944 flying above Finland (ads-b) as 05-1944. Is FY05
correct?

Registration N8VQ cancelled Nov 2005, plane was relabeled 97-01944, apparently to commemorate the D-Day landings, but had no official meaning. Later relabeled 05-01944and here:
05-01944 Gulfstream Aerospace C-37A MSN 566. 97-0049 relabeled to commemorate D-Day landings, but apparently has no official meaning. Previously N466GA, 97-00049, 97-01944, N8VQ.
