Edit: at the Texel webcam, the two French helo's can be seen (at the moment). One is a black Robinson, the other a red EC-type (130?):

Mystery solved then. I saw the red helicopter from a distance and heard the sound of the R44 helicopter. Did not see the R44 visually. The red heli was flying very low indeed (200-300ft is my guess), with low clouds and bad visibility. Not very smart to do.
