A China Southern Airlines Boeing 777-300,
registration B-2009 performing flight CZ-3539 from Guangzhou to Shanghai Hongqiao (China),
was boarding for departure.

A passenger had placed his luggage containing a power bank
and other equipment in the overhead locker,
when the power bank suffered a thermal runway and a fire developed.
