Meridiana is set up to absorb sister carrier Air Italy as part of an organisational reshuffle.
Unions for the two airliners have agreed a proposal to merge the companies under a single Air Operator Certificate from March 1,though transisitional arrangements will see Air Italy continue to fuction as a seperate brand untill the leases on it's aircraft expire.
