Belgium sends C-130 to Mali for one year

Among Defense files in the program of the Council of Ministers,

in Bamako for a period of one year.

Belgium has decided to increase its contribution to MINUSMA

The Belgian army sent two NH-90s with a detachment of 50 men,
active since March and who will return to Belgium at the end of June.

The remainder of the detachment is divided up with 20 men in Bamako in support of the commander General Deconinck,
5 men in Bamako in the U2 cell of MINUSMA Force HQ
and 12 men in Gao in Sector HQ.

with the sending of this C-130 and a detachment of 65 soldiers,

The government has agreed today for a one-year direct deployment from May 2018 to May 2019.
The mission of the C-130 will be to provide air transportation for MINUSMA.

in a German contingent with the task of collecting information for the benefit of MINUSMA.
