Die M28 Skytruck – Das neue Ausbildungsflugzeug der Bundeswehr
Gepubliceerd op 7 aug. 2017

has revealed a lease deal for two M28 Skytrucks.
German evaluation of the twin-turboprop has been going on for some time.
In Luftwaffe service the M28 will be mainly used for parachute jump training.
A first Skytruck has apparently already been handed over while a second aircraft is still at PZL awaiting delivery.
The second airframe is fitted with a cargo pod under the fuselage which has a useable volume of 46cu ft and a maximum payload of 660lb.
...a Transall has more of a "presence" in the sky. This Antonov An-28 derivative is even noticeably smaller than a Dakota...German Paratroopers hailing from the Bundeswehr’s 26th Airborne Regiment
participated in a tactical training drop,
with involvement of a PZL Mielec M28 Skytruck aircraft which has been leased,
for 4 years, by the Luftwaffe.
The airframe in question is to be operated by the German Air Force
until the A400M airlifters attain a higher level of readiness.
