Desert terminus:
After 33 years as a transport and landing plane of the Golden Knights, the US Army's parachute jump team,
the Fokker-built C-31A troopship, number 85-01607,
landed at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson on September 24 in the US state of Arizona.
One of two Fokker C-31A Troopships flown by the U.S. Army retired to AMARG earlier this week
after supporting 525,000 jumps for "The Golden Knights," the Army's premier aerial parachute team.
This aircraft has served the team well since 1985 and is replaced
by the DHC-8 (C-147A) which will soon be showcased all across the country. - Sep. 24, 2018
