In a case like this is the manufacturer still liable for the damages?

That rather depends on what caused the problem.
It could have been a servicing error for example.

For the sake of discussion let's assume that it's NOT a servicing error?
What i'm asking |is there a manufacturer warranty" that covers this type of mishap?

I guess we don't have an insight in the RNZAF contracts with the manufacturer regarding a mishap.
Compromise is failure.
