EBBR/EBMB 11-10-2018 MIL

Post by Richard from Rotterdam »

Apparently today around 16:00 2 US Navy C-2A Greyhounds are expected. Inbound from RAF Mildenhall.

Also later tonight a Chilean AF B767 is due to arrive.

Both Greyhounds can be seen heading towards Newcastle. I believe they spend the night in Oslo but can be seen climbing somewhat south of the line Aalborg - Glasgow. About the same position as the HST was in last week so they might have made a stop allready.

Arjan, they flew direct from Oslo to Mildenhall, and indeed a long way around via overhead Newcastle. The Truman is currently about 30 miles out of the coast near Oostende after departing Portsmouth yesterday. Guess that's the reason why they come to Brussels?

If you are reffering to Marinetraffic.com, that position near Oostende is from at least 9 hours ago by the way, I assume it moved northwards allthough the USS Peary is still not much far away from that. I wonder if they would allow flightoperations in the channel with the dense traffic around.
Wonder if they'll be at Brussels to pick up some dignitaries which might have to be back for another visit to drop them off again??

They landed at 16 : 15 and 16 : 30.
They look to be parked at Melsbroek (nothing at Abelag). I don't know if they are to be seen from outside.

Can they be seen from outside the fence or are they parked behind the buildings?

Paul Sanders has posted pics of both on arrival in a closed Facebook group.

You can see one from the Melsbroek side. I drove, with thanks to another Dutch spotter, to the parking of NK Nossegem and climbed the sandhill. Both could bee seen!
