Yakutia eyes IL-114-300 for fleet renewal

Nov 14, 2018

Yakutia Airlines is considering modernizing the Russian carrier’s regional fleet
with Ilyushin IL-114-300 aircraft as the company plans to retire the Antonov An-24RV.

Airline and Ilyushin representatives met Nov. 14 to discuss the potential purchase.

The Il-114-300 turboprop is a modification of the Il-114-100,
which was assembled in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, but the production line was closed in 2012.

In 2015, the Russian government announced plans to relaunch production and develop the modification.
United Engine Corp. (UEC), part of state-owned Rostec, develops the TV7-11ST engine for IL-114-300.

The aircraft is expected to gain type certification by the end of 2022.

The airline operates
six An-24RVs,
five Boeing 737-800s,
three Q300s,
a Q400,
three Sukhoi Superjet 100s (SSJ100) and
two SSJ100LRs.

Yakutia carried 679,905 passengers in the first nine months of 2018, down 2% year-over-year.
