J-197 F-16 KLu

Hi

Being at Leeuwarden and seeing quit a lot of Dutch F-16's . I have question for my fellow spotters.
Does anyone why F-16AM J-197 of the KLu.
Is (still) flying with a 311 Sqn badge on left side and a 315 Sqn badge on the right of the tail?
As both squadrons are disbanded for quit a while now (311in 2012 and 315 in 2004 I believe).

Still or again? I expect they did this on purpose. Heard some rumours that they plan to “zap” some Vipers with all the active and disbanded KLu squadrons. If this is true, this could be one of them.

Kist heeft jaren met 311 stickers rond gevlogen, omdat men op Volkel geen gecertificeerde spuitschuur meer had.
De 311 sticker aan de rechterkant is er afgebladerd en nu is zijn oude eigenaar 315 tevoorschijn gekomen.

Sinds een tijdje kan er op Volkel weer gespoten worden en zullen de meeste kisten zonder markings en met foutieve (geen Volkel) markings onder handen worden genomen en voorzien worden van 312/313 markings en Volkel staartband

I had seen J-197 with 311 badge. But I thought it was funny and odd it is now flying with 2 badges of disbanded units.

Thanks for clearing that up. Great that they are able to paint again at Volkel.
We will have to wait and see what finally will happen, and if the rumours turn out to be correct. In the meanwhile we have this nice bird with rare markings flying around.
