Post by Stratofreighter »

...one of the two affected Puma helicopters is about to become operational again...

The Ministry of Defence last night said one of the helicopters has been approved
to return to operational flying but the other remains grounded pending further repairs.

Daily Fail text:
The incident, which happened last week as the aircraft were being towed into the hangar,
has saddled the RAF with a repair bill likely to run to tens of thousands of pounds.

A source at the base said: ‘It’s very embarrassing.
The helicopters are towed at a snail’s pace into the hangars where they stay overnight and are prepared for the next day’s flying.

‘Only the guys working that night know exactly what happened.

'They could face disciplinary action for negligence.
They’ve caused a lot of damage.’
