During a visit of the Serbian Minister of Defence to the Rosvertol factory in Rostov last week, flying examples of the 4 Mi-35M helicopters ordered by Serbia last year were shown. As a result of improved relations between Russia and Serbia, President Putin and President Vukic confirmed a helicopter deal for 4 Mi-35s and 3 Mi-17's last year. The Mi-35M's will be allocated to the 714 anti-tank helicopter squadron (714.phe) at Kraljevo. Serbian flight and maintenance crews are already in Russia for training. Serbia previously operated two Mi-24V's, used during the Albanian skirmishes in the ninetees. These two helicopters have been stored at Batajnica AB for well over a decade.
Serial numbers for the new Mi-35M's are 35101 through 35104. '102' and '104' were noted on pictures circulated by Serbian MoD this week. Deliveries are to take place in the first quarter of 2020.
