New Zealand Defence Force sends support to Australia


Supplied video obtained Tuesday, January 7, 2020,
of a Royal New Zealand Air Force NH90 helicopter
being loaded onto a Royal Australian Air Force C-17 Globemaster at Ohakea Airforce Base on Monday, January 6.

Three NH90 helicopters and crew, as well as two New Zealand Army Combat Engineer Sections,
will undertake transport tasks to support the Australian Defence Force's efforts in tackling the Australian fires.

The NZDF contingent will deploy to Royal Australian Air Force Base Edinburgh, in Adelaide, South Australia,
and will remain in Australia at least until the end of January 2020.
The first of three Royal Air Force :roll: NH 90 Helicopters has arrived in Sydney to help with the bushfire crisis.

The crew landed at the Richmond Air Base
and will head to the south coast,
adding to the 157 New Zealand firefighters already deployed.

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says the country is ready to repay Australia
for its help through a tough 2019.
