Four F18s arrived this afernoon from Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay.

Also on the 12th February, the following detached/transient airplanes were noted. There were several more VMFAT-203 AV/TAV-8B on the ramp, these were the ones that flew,

Most likely -224 jets that returned from UDP.

MV-43 confirmed on 13mar20 as 166761.
The UH-1Ys are the other way around.

It would seem likely the era of the USMC F/A-18 UDP in Japan has come to a close, and these VMFA-211 Lightnings are the first wave of the first USMC F-35 UDP. If this is so, the remaining jets (x4?) can be expected at Iwakuni shortly.

They arrived at Elmendorf AFB last Thursday as FEUD 11 and FEUD 21 flight.
Supporting tankers were PETRO 65 (87-0119) and PETRO 75 (87-0120).

From a USMC press release, it appears VMFA-121 at MCAS Iwakuni is acquiring brand new F-35Bs. Officially 8 new Lightnings have arrived at Iwakuni for the Green Pawns-from here?. Reports from Japan are awaited...

They are the six I mentioned above plus 169622/06 & 169627 u/m.

The initial VMFA-121 F-35Bs displaced at MCAS Iwakuni are now known, as the Japanese magazine Koku-Fan report the following Lightnings departing MCAS Iwakuni on 11 March back to the USA,
