In the Eindhoven thread I was told the RNlAF calls these aircraft KC-30M. Also on Wikipedia.

The CFMU follows the type designator as used by ICAO. Years ago a Dutch spotter, Peter Vercruijsse, who worked in Air Traffic Control, was responsible for type designations for ICAO. He initiated the rule that military versions of civil aircraft should follow the civil type designator as given by the original equipment manufacturer . As a result flightplans of KC-10's show DC10, C-21's show LR25, etc. These civil types are also used on the frequency where strict application of ICAO rules is mandatory, for example when giving traffic information.
The fact that sub types like B735, B738 etc. are used, is for informing ATC the weight category and most important the width of the wing which is crucial for gate assignment at airports.
The military are free to call their aircraft as they like, see Brasil, but for flightplanning they have to stick to the official ICAO designator.

Kind regards,
Arnold

Why not KC-30M?
Maybe 'cause they are A330's and not named KC-30 by the KLu and EATC!
