Time: c. 21:00

An IDF Eurocopter AS 565MA Atalef, operated by 193 Squadron,
crashed into the sea at night off Bat Galim beach, Haifa.

The helicopter was taking part in a training exercise at the time say the IDF.

One crew member was rescued.
The two pilots were discovered after a long search and didn't survive the crash.

They belong to the Israel Defence Force (IDF) 193 Sqn on behalf of the Israeli Navy and operating from Ramat David AB (LLRD).
There were five AS 565MA Atalef helicopters in operation and NOT seven (882, 885, 889, 891 and 895).
