The Falcon 8X is an extended (modified) Falcon 7X. Both aircraft have one type certificate, that of the 7X. That is why the 8X is sometimes referred to as 7X in flight plans. Formally, the 8X is mainly a commercial name to indicate the difference with a 7X. The EASA type certificate states: "The introduction of the fuselage stretch modification of 1.00 meter has the commercial designation "F8X". This modification is applicable for all F7X models from S/N 401 and ongoing."
