First casualty of storm Eunice here in Wantage.
The de Havilland Venom statue on the Mably Way roundabout has come down in the high winds.

The Venom, which has been a beloved landmark of the area, sits on the former RAF Grove Airfield.
The site has since become a technology park and marks the gateway entrance whilst creating a focal point for the local area.

Apart from this being very sad, still fascinating to be pointed again to the fact this airframe was partially a plywood construction!
Edit: seeing how it was put on display rather surprises me it survived previous high wind events!
