A recent visit to this former "leading aircraft museum of the world" revealed that the ongoing "street repairs and beautification project" is being implemented to the detriment of the spotter/enthusiast. Phase 1 of this project has reduced the aircraft on view from over 100 to about 50, and whilst small parts of others can be partially seen thru gaps in temporary fences and the diligent use of binoculars from strategic locations, it is not expected that anywhere near the full complement will be available in the forseeable future. A ban on "scrapping" has made little difference with aircraft deemed unsafe cut up (for example the former Air France B707) whilst the state of many of the stored aircraft in their revetments could not be ascertained. [That's not to say the new potted plants are without a beauty of their own, and with a ratio of ten attractive air force conscripts to each visitor, proper husbandry techniques should allow the plants to prosper for hundreds of years].
