1 AD CAB take over from 1 Air Cav

Post by Worldnis »

Mid-May UsArEur announced the 9th aviation rotation for Atlantic Resolve would see 1 AD CAB tak over from 1 Air Cav. See US Army Europe website for more information, but the general drift of it was 'this summer'.

https://www.europeafrica.army.mil/Artic ... announced/

Several H-60 and CH-47F were seen returning from Poland into Germany over the last few days. Today I note CH-47F 15-08180 travelling from Powidz to southern Germany (landed Grafenwohr 1PM) as "Hefty80".

Also on 1 Air Cav last week they had a command change at Illesheim and are mentioning they are on the 'the home stretch' as well.

Anyone see more helicopters flying back and more importantly are we looking at a Belgian/French port and staging airport?

Yup, and CH-47s 0181 and 0177 flew a return to Powidz from Illesheim on the 27th as well. So a little 'trigger happy' on the 'France' bit but let's just keep an eye out...

Today, 10-08-2022, the ARC Endurance left the harbour of Beaumont. Destination given is Esbjerg in Denmark with estimated arrival on 22 August at 06:00 local time. Most likely the helicopters from 1AD CAB are on board as well.
The facebook page of Fort Bliss/1AD CAB mentions 3-6 Air Cavalry Squadron, 2-501 GSAB and 3-501 Assault Helicopter Squadron as the aviation units for Atlantic Resolve. Also the 127th ASB is mentioned, this is a support unit.

Endurance has now docked in Esbjerg port (DK). That probably means that at least the incoming helo's are to be offloaded there.
