With the sun in the east, to get the sun somewhat at my back I parked on Heacock south of Nandina for landing aircraft (this was maybe too close for an 80-200mm lens, but this was my 1st time here when I wasn't at an airshow). In the afternoon, for landing planes, I'd try Patterson, north of Harley Knox. More spotting info at:

I was only looking for flying Amazon planes, so I only took a cursory peek at the ramp. I did see 2 Omega tankers, 1xDC-10,1x707; ~7xC-17, ~6xKC135. I did NOT see any F-16s, but I could've missed them. Usually I see the alert jets under the shade structures on the north side, I did look under there, they were empty this morning.
