According to Secretary of State Christophe van der Maat,
transferring the Chinooks to Ukraine has been considered,
but this encounters practical objections. T

he Defense Chinooks have a cockpit that is only used in the Netherlands and Singapore,
which would make providing training and maintenance in an international context too complicated.

Within 3 months
It is not only about the sale of the helicopters, but also of spare parts and aircraft-specific test equipment.

The interdepartmental Defense Materiel Sales Committee (CVDM) already approved the sale of these 6 Chinooks in December.

The aim is to sign the contract with Billings Flying Service in March by Domeinen Roerende Zaken of the Ministry of Finance.

The handover is at a time to be determined afterwards.

Are these six D-66x Chinooks?
One D-66x went to the NNM at Soesterberg?

The four D-10x were sold already to USA before I thought.

The 4 Chinooks sold to Coulson in 2020 turned out to be 4 of the 6 'grey' CH-47F(NL)'s, after being stripped of 2,500+ parts re-used in the D-60x series CH-47F MYII CAAS.
There should be at least 4 Delta's remaining in the Netherlands: 1 in front of the 298 Squadron building (D-666), 1 for the NMM at Soesterberg (D-66.?) plus 2 as instructional airframes in 'Leerdocks'.
That leaves 7 Delta's for possible sale. But which ones?

The Dutch MOD states that the proposed sale
– which also includes the provision of spare parts and aircraft-specific test equipment –
was approved by the interdepartmental Defense Materiel Sales Committee in December 2022,
adding that it aims to sign the contract with the Billings Flying Service by the end of March 2023.

A delivery schedule will be determined after the acquisition contract has been signed.

The six CH-47Ds being sold to the Billings Flying Service are not the first Dutch Chinooks
to be sold to an aerial firefighting services provider in the US.

In 2020, the Dutch MOD sold four CH-47F(NL) helicopters to Coulson Aviation (USA),
which is headquartered in Portland, Oregon.

These helicopters (serials D-891; D-893; D-894 and D-896) are currently in storage at San Bernardino in California.

The RNLAF’s No 298 Squadron at Gilze-Rijen Air Base withdrew its final CH-47Ds from operational service in December 2021.

Since then, the majority of these helicopters have been stored inside hangars at the base.

The RNLAF has almost received all of its new-build CH-47F MYII CAAS Chinooks
and the air arm is looking to sell its older CH-47Ds quickly
to free up hangar space for the new helicopters.

Funny

Including the serial mistake.
D-896 should be D-895, as 896 doesn't exist.
