So the defilé is on the Avenue Foch between the Arc de Triomphe and the Boulevard Périphérique.Due to the Olympic Games, the traditional July 14 parade must leave the Champs-Élysées.
An alternative route, between Porte de Vincennes and Nation, had been announced, but, faced with “logistical and technical difficulties”, the very chic Avenue Foch (16th century) won.
From:Due to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the July 14 military parade will not take place on the Champs Élysées this year, but on Avenue Foch (Paris 16th).
The various rehearsals for the flypast take on new importance. The first rehearsal for the 2024 edition of the July 14 parade will take place on June 17, 2024. The crews of the planes and helicopters (patrol and device leaders) who will parade above Avenue Foch will participate that day at a briefing, which will be held at the Ministry of the Armed Forces in Balard. The crews will then carry out a reconnaissance of the flypast axes aboard helicopters. This reconnaissance is planned from the Valérie André heliport, located in Issy-les-Moulineaux.
The general rehearsal for the flypast will take place on July 3 at Air Base 123 “Charles Paoli” in Orléans-Bricy. This essential moment allows all crews to be ready for D-Day on Avenue Foch and offers a life-size preview of the flypast, in which around sixty aircraft will participate.
A final rehearsal for the flypast in Paris (Arc de Triomphe) will take place on July 10. It should allow the leaders of each aircraft and helicopter patrol as well as their number 2 to practice marching along the axis of Avenue Foch. The top of the Arc de Triomphe offers a unique view of the entire aircraft system
