Ka-32A11M certified
January 1, 2024
The modernized Russian Ka-32A11M firefighting helicopter has completed certification tests.
During them, he made over 100 flights.
Based on the data obtained, the performance of the helicopter's engines and main systems,
as well as its flight performance, was assessed.
Laboratory tests were also carried out to assess the resistance of the rotorcraft and its systems
to high-intensity electromagnetic fields and lightning strikes.
After completing the work, Rosawiacja specialists analyzed the results and prepared a certification document.
The Ka-32A11M demonstrated the ability to take off and land safely in the event of an engine failure.
The helicopter is equipped with indigenous WK-2500PS-02 engines with the BARK-6W-7S digital automatic control system.
They enable flights in high mountains and in areas with a hot climate.
The improved cooling system allows the engines to operate at extremely high temperatures.
It is possible to extinguish fires even in severe frosts, down to -20 o C. This ability has been achieved for the first time in the world.
The new SP-32 fire extinguishing system is equipped with electrically heated water discharge flaps, hoses and pumps.
Its capacity is up to 4,000 liters of water and up to 400 liters of foaming agent.
It fills in 60 seconds, and digital control of the tank flaps allows you to control the intensity of extinguishing.
Additionally, the system provides emergency water discharges.
Using a water cannon, the Ka-32A11M can extinguish fires in skyscrapers and similar facilities.
The list of additional helicopter options also includes a suspended device with a lifting capacity of up to 5 tons.
The Ka-32 family helicopters are produced at the Kumertau Aviation Production Company (KumAPP),
which is part of the Dralioty Rossii holding.
It is planned not only to produce new helicopters,
but also to modernize the Ka-32 currently in service to the Ka-32A11M standard.
