The large French interdisciplinary exercise "VOLFA-2024" with Greek participation is expected to be held at the Mont de Marsan Air Base in southwestern France. During Exercise "VOLFA", objects of complex air missions covering the entire range of air operations, involving large Comao Formations, will be executed in an electronic warfare and multiple threat environment.
The Hellenic Armed Forces will participate with Rafale fighter jets of the 332 Squadron "Geraki".
The Greek Air Force participated in the French exercise in both 2020 and 2022 with F-16 Block 50 fighters from the 347 Fighter Squadron "Perseus" and F-16 Block 52+adv from the 340 Fighter Squadron "Fox".
At Tanagra, 18 Rafales have been landed, while the remaining 6 to complete the Squadron of 24 4.5 generation fighters are expected at the end of the 1st semester of '24. Two years after the acquisition of the first Rafales, the 332 Fighter Squadron "Hawk" has now been certified as fully operational, with the Rafale crews and technicians having completed the training cycle that also concerns the use of all the weapons carried by the fighter aircraft.
