On 11 September 2024, a UTair Helicopter Services Mi-8 transport helicopter was set on fire by arsonists
while parked at Noyabrsk Airport in Noyabrsk, Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.

the two arsonists sustained serious burn injuries to the face.
As a result, the pair escaped the airport, only to call an ambulance shortly after due to the severe injuries sustained.
The two were picked up by an ambulance, and were apprehended by law enforcement authorities when reaching the hospital.
In a conversation with investigators,
the children admitted to carrying out the act after being "recruited" through Telegram,
having being reportedly promised ₽5 million.
The pair further admitted to setting fire to a cell phone tower, for which they received ₽30 thousand.
