Mi 26 at Kemzeke (BE)

When driving towards Antwerpen on the E34/N49, near the village of Kemzeke, I noticed a Mi26 in faded Skytech colours parked next to the road. A bit of googling found it to be RA06032, one of the mythical Mi26’s that were stocked in the port of Zeebrugge in 2011. It now belongs to the Verbeke Foundation, a large private art collection. It arrived there in 2022 apparently. See:

Deze was reeds vermeld in een report (Scramble forum Helispot dd 05 Jun 2022, 17:38).

Het ding fotograferen was 'een beetje' een uitdaging vanwege de weelderige tierende bush-bush. (aug en sep 2023) en dat zal niet minder zijn geworden.

Deze helikopter stond lang geleden elders in België, samen met een soortgenoot. Het duo was toen wel vrij te fotograferen en de banden waren vol lucht.

Toen nog wel :wink:

Ah. Missed that post. Thanks for clearing that up. Former location of this sorry-looking helo before Zeebrugge was Charleroi afaik. The bushes have indeed grown considerably, but it remains a huge airframe that is hard to miss when on the expressway… fortunately!
