Taranto (TAR/LIBG) 2025 MIL

Post by Zonan »

On the morning of 13 february between 08:00 and 10:00 we saw the following:
Harrier platform:
Shed 1 empty
Shed 2 TAV-8B MM55032 / 1-01
Shed 3 AV-8B MM7214 / 1-08
Shed 4 AV-8B MM7222 / 1-16 (was later towed back into the hangar)
Shed 5 F-35B not identified
Shed 6 remained closed
Shed 7 F-35B not identief
Shed 8 F-35B seems like 4-06, though not 100% sure
in front of the hangar behind the sheds was AV-8B MM7223 / 1-18 with full engine covers, might be stored

Platform spots next to the sheds:
spot 1 AV-8B MM7199 / 1-03
spot 2 AV-8B MM7224 / 1-19
spot 3 AV-8B MM7220 / 1-14, went into shed 4 later

NH90 platform:
SH-90A MM81615 / 3-40
SH-90A MM81618 / 3-43
MH-90A MM81627 / 3-55

MH-90A MM81627 went for a local mission and took off from runway 35.
AV-8B MM7220 / 1-14 flew a local mission departing from the dummy carrier deck direction runway 17 and arrived with a low approach on runway 17 followed by a landing on the carrier deck direction 35

Around 10:15 we moved to Lecce and in the evening we came back to Taranto. In the night, 1 AV-8B and 2 F-35Bs were flying. The AV-8B returned to shed 4, so our best bet would be the MM7220 / 1-14 again, but no photoproof.

On friday 14 february we spent the whole day in Taranto. A lot of activity around the jets and 3 NH90s were outside, but nothing flew. We were able to note AV-8B MM7213 / 1-07 which was towed from the hangar to a small platform between the dummy deck and the NH90 platform. As a sidenote, the F-35s went to this same platform after landing at night 1 by 1 for at least 15 minutes each, we could not see why though (maybe defuelling, refuelling or dearming?)

Just 2 movements this day:
UH-169C MM82160 / CC-23 for a local mission came from Bari.
P-180AM MM62213 / 9-03 from Egypt and departed to Rome Ciampino (@scramble, the tailcode is not written in the database)
