Nostalgia

Hi,

With ref. to some recent posts, we could start a dedicated 'Nostalgia Forum' to post old logs, ask questions about movements from days gone by, et cetera. Is that a good idea or should we rather leave these things to the respective areas?

It would be a nice idea to have some dedicated space especially reserved for those "old" requests, of which I still have a few as well... I'll bet that a lot of people still have some gaps to fill, concerning movements at AMS and don't have the old editions of Scrambles magazine at hand

We are working on a DB of the EHLW movements, we have about 52.0000 so far and still a few gaps to fill!
We start from 1937 up till now!

Great idea!

But with the growing number of subboards, the need for an "Active Topics" topics function will be growing (although I realize that this will probably not be be a feature in the ootb software for this forum).

Uhm, I don't understand... Upon login you see which forums have new posts, and for each individual thread the orange 'bookmark' brings you right to the posts added after your last visit.
Is it something else you mean?

Yes, a link on the first page with "Active Topics". This would show a list of modified topics from all subforums.
I've seen this on other forums and personally I find it very useful. In the current situation, you see which forums contain new posting, but you'll have to visit them to see which topics were added/modified.

Yes, that is very useful indeed. A cklick on a button and you get a list of all topics that were posted new or updated since your last visit.

OK, this topic has been viewed roughly 360 times but we only have 21 votes (< 6%). Of these votes most are in favour of the Nostalgia forum so it is now open, but we'll monitor the activity. If there is not much going on it will be better to close that forum again, we don't want to make things more complicated than is useful. Meanwhile... enjoy!
