It is important to note that these are conventions, not rules written in stone. As Scramble's Aviation Wiki will grow and change, probably those conventions, which were drawn up when this Wiki was initiated, may become outdated or prove to be not as clear as intended.
So when you disagree with a particular convention, the idea is you start a discussion on the subject (on this message board), and see you get enough allies to get the convention changed.
But as long as there is no agreement, we hope people stick to the current convention -just to keep everything alike- and we (the moderators) change any deviations until the convention is changed, at which point we change everything to that new convention.
Sorry but I'm not that kind of person - i want to spent my time on something valuable (like adding some interesting materials to wiki) not on arguing.
And it is a bit annoying that someone that has no real contributions in wiki:
http://www.scramble.nl/wiki/index.php?t ... ons/Stefan" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
is changing my articles because he knows better. Maybe if he knows everything better he should write this article.
For example:
in wiki you ave article about:
General Dynamics F-16 Fighting Falcon (earlier name)
not about
Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon
ok so i article about Israeli Air Force to name AH-64 I have used name
Hughes AH-64 Apache (earlier name - same was used in wikipedia)
but Stefan has changed it to
McDonnell Douglas AH-64 Apache
why?
Going back to IL:
Aircrafts used by PAF were named Ił-(something) - transcryption from cyrlic letters. You have no ł letter so it should be Il, yes I know that it look symilar to II or ll but his is forum and wiki for people tha know something about aviation - not for total dumbsters.
And las thing - for Gods Sake do not change designations of polish aircrafts I have used in my articles - it is PZL-130 Orlik, not PZL 130 Orlik, ok?
