Were did you guys stay during your visits to Stansted? We've just bought some very cheap tickets on Ryanair to reside there for a day in/around the terminal. All tips are welcome. Any trouble with security?
No problems with security at all. We were sitting in the terminal as it was raining almost all day. Otherwise the best option is to sit at the hill (right of the terminal, in front of the FedEx ramp). From there you can see the most of the bizzjets and all arriving/departing planes.
Together with my brother I've visited Stansted with a little help from Ryanair and their 0,02 euro return tickets!

REQ: Federal Express MD-11 that departed around half past 4 local time.
Went to STN yesterday, on a cheap Ryanair flight, although "free" seems more appropriate!
Arrival was early, so we were out of the terminal around half past eight already. As this was my first trip to Stansted, it took some effort to find a decent spot. Since we were on foot, the better places are way too far obviously, so we decided to stand on a mound somewhere between the FedEx and SRTechnics hangar where we were both out of sight and away from the fence, so we wouldn't be bothered by police or security.
My first trip to this field wasn't bad at all, with over 100 different aircraft seen between app. 09:00 and 16:00.
Special appearances were by a CR9 in Northwest Airlink c/s (the same that was seen previous weekend at Le Bourget, apparently performing some demonstration flights or something the like as we saw it flying a couple of times that day). Further noteworthy aircraft were a Pace Airlines 757, SAMA 737, and S-76 G-FULM was a welcome addition to the trip too.
Making a total of 48 different Ryanair 737s and 21 Easyjets and six Air Berlins. So not a bad place to go if you are still looking for some aircraft from the largest low-cost carriers in Europe.
Any help with the Agusta A-109 greatly appreciated! It had no markings at all, and was completely white with a blue cheatline running from front to rear over the fuselage.
Can someone give me the regis of a Ryanair, which landed at Standsted at 18.00 and a FedEx MD11F which landed at around 17.30. I also search for a regi of a unknows 747 for me, that landed around 17.00. It had a dark-blue tail with something yellow in it.
