some old 80's pics of Gilze-Rijen AB

some old 80's pics of Gilze-Rijen AB

I really like the 80’s pics Soesterberg topic (nice memories…) and I personally started to take photographs back in 1987 on my home base Gilze-Rijen. Those were the days of the NF-5’s and the USAF F-15 deployments. Well maybe a good reason to start such a topic for Gilze-Rijen.

I do not expect that this topic will become as huge as the Soesterberg topic, mainly because there was much more activity at Soesterberg AB in the late eighties than at Gilze-Rijen (Gilze was a rather quiet base). But on the other hand the pics you see here below are almost 20 years old now and maybe people do like to see some old pics of Dutch AF NF-5’s.

If someone has some nice pics of the Tactical Air Meet which was held in 1984, these would suit perfectly in this topic (I know Kees van der Velden has some nice ones, so when you read this Kees... :D)

Very cool topic Marcel, unfortunatly i can't join this one; i started with pictures in 1996 with my first good camera. Do you have more pics from the holloman eagles late 80's because i saw these too 8)

oh yes I remember the Holloman Eagles, and later on the Stealths as well, what a hot day that was, but we had best seats standing there since 10.30 in the morning.

Well, now we have almost every single 1986 Holloman deployment F-15 in da house!
Here some Danish AF Drakens which were on rotation with 316 squadron in 1988.

AT-154, Sk-35XD, Esk 725, Danish AF (this one was not on rotation but arrived for the 316 sqn jubilee on the 25th of March 1988)
