Hello WH64,
I was going back through the photography forum in Scramble to see if I could find any information on copying slides with a digital camera and noticed your post from way back in 2007!! I have been having my slides scanned professionally for the last two years, having previously tried it myself with not to great results. The professional scans are quite acceptable as they are using a Nikon 5000 scanner but I keep looking at the hundreds of KR64 boxes still to be done and calculating how much it will cost.
Looking on the internet there is some good advice on the techniques and I have decided on purchasing a macro lens (probably Canon 100mm F2.
, light source and stand for securing the camera. Most of the information on the internet concerns mostly landscape/general photography and perhaps the photographers aren`t as picky as aviation photographers so my question is, in your opinion, given a sharp lens and the correct set up, is digital capture at least comparable or better than a slide scan on a Nikon 5000? Do you have some examples on your website (and where is your website?) Any information greatly appreciated.
Best regards, Mark
