Scramble 340 will be out in a couple of days

Post by jurgen »

The September issue is again 160 pages thanks to no less than eleven varied articles. Due to other commitments we do not have a civil movements elsewhere, warbirds and triptease section this month.
Our request for cover pictures has been answered from the military side, but we are still looking for good quality pictures of civil aircraft for our cover. Have a look for the specs at http://www.scramble.nl/mag.htm.

We have almost ran out of SMS Europe 2007 and the EMOOS is also going very well. So if you are interested check out our shop at http://www.scramble.nl/shop.htm

In this month's edition we have special features about:

-AIRFIELD GUIDE - PRESTWICK.
Thanks to the low budget airlines this airfield is in easy reach. It handles a varied collection of the smaller civil and all kinds of military aircraft. Spotting opportunities are very good.

-AIRFIELD GUIDE - VILLAVICENCIO-VANGUARDIA.
Probably not an airfield you hear of every day. This small airfield is located in Colombia and if you are interested in propliners it should be on your wish-list.

-AIR FORCE OVERVIEW - BELGIUM.
Although not called 'air force' any more this article gives an overview of all active Belgian Air Component aircraft.

-AMI SF260S.
After almost thirty years the SF260AMs are moving out and the SF260EAs are moving in. Our editors visited Latina to see how the transition is going.

-AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS.
Imagine being alone in a microlight aircraft somewhere over Greenland. You have no vision and do not know how fast you are going as both the windows and airspeed indicator are frozen solid. You fly at around 11,000 feet and hope not to collide with the enormous mountains only a few hundred feet below. This is one of the exciting stories the crew of the Indian Air Force crew told Scramble when we met at the German airport of Münster-Osnabrück. The crew was enroute trying to break the world record for circumnavigating the world in a microlight aircraft.

-BUILDING B1
This is the beating hard for aircraft production for the Lockheed-Martin company in marietta (GA). The C-130J and F-22 are built side-by-side in this enormous hangar.

-MUZEUM LOTNICTWA POLSKIEGO
By far the largest aircraft museum in Poland is located in Krakow. It was erected in 1963 and currently has a couple dozen aircraft on display, civil and military.

-OSHKOSH - EAA AIR VENTURE 2007
Probably the largest airshow in the world when counting the number of aircraft present. Although there are literally thousands of general aviation aircraft the annual airshow also brings some large civil and military hardware. Our reporter was there for a single day and wrote down hundreds in his logbook.

-THE ROMANIAN TOUR
The annual press tour of several Romanian Air Force bases was attended by two of our editors. There were a couple of significant changes compared to last year tour.

-USAF DEPLOYMENTS TO THE NETHERLANDS
This historical article gives an overview of all USAF Coronet deployments to the Netherlands between 1977 and 1993. All the callsigns, tailnumbers and other details are listed.

-SUPER ETENDARD COMBAT MISSIONS
This year the United Kingdom is remembering the 25th Anniversary of the Falkland war. We spoke to a couple of Argentine Etendard pilots about their mission during the war.
