Stockholm-Bromma 31/01 and 01/11 afternoon

Post by Flygvapnet_Viggen »

As I am for study in Sweden now, well actually for the next two years , I wanted to do something on my hobby. So I decided to go to Bromma airport in the city of Stockholm. I was so "desperate" that I wanted to go to a civil-used airport for photography... I have to do something with my spare time :)
Nevertheless, I turned out to be really nice! The airport is great, with quite some flights and it is also often used by the Swedish Airforce as they have to pic up guys from the parlement there :o
Moreover I found a really beautifull spot from where you can take awesome pics of the landing and take-off at rwy 30. Situated a bit higher than the rwy you have great view and an even better background scenery: Stockholm city!!
One disavantage of being "so far"up in the North is: it's getting dark early, so from 16:00 on darkness comes over Stockholm. But this also seems to give me other photo opportuninties I seldomly had before and I like it; the evening sun and after that the darker skies and lights everywhere...
So take a look yourself: I've posted quite a number of pics but remind you they are from two seperate days!
PS: Some of you might get bored with the civil stuff... scroll down to the Flygvapnet planes

I'd rather depict atmosphere and the 'heat of the moment' making a catchy photo than to reflect the real situation and real colours showing a boring photo.

Normally I really don't post any comment on photo's, but this time....you have earned it! Man, those are really great shots! Especially the Malmo Aviation panning shot!

By the way: the SE-LIL....I can almost guarantee you that one came in from Rotterdam! I can't think of any other field, because he was here for quite a few months for engine-checks.

I hope you enjoy your stay in Sweden! All the good luck to you!

Ciao, MartijnMD11!
The airports' runway is the most important main street in any town!

I will not say it is very busy. It's only during the afternoon (from 15:00) that about every 10/15 min there should be a flight coming in and taking off.
Before that the flights just come every hour or half an hour. But besides that you have the general aviation traffic and sometimes the Flygvapnet to fill the gaps...
I think you won't get bored here, especially not during the afternoons
And indeed it is just a great place to take photos, which is not at the Scramble airfield guide btw! It is opposite spot 3 mentioned there.

May see you at Bromma
