Antonov An-225 "Mrija" - The white giant

Post by chinoock »

Hello friends,

on November 19th the Antonov An-225 "Mrija" came to EDSB/FKB (Baden Airpark) to bring a spare jet engine for a defect An-124 and to take away the Ruslan's cargo.

The An-225 came and left after nightfall...perfect conditions for some bulb exposures:

1. The defect An-124-100 (UR-82029) waiting for the spare jet engine:

2. The An-225 "Mrija" (UR-82060):

3. A bit closer:

4. Stage III...x3:

5. The jet engine for the An-124 is discharged:

6. Frantic hustle and bustle:

7. All engines running:

The translation of the Ukrainian word "Mrija" means "dream"...it's getting clear when you realize the dimensions of that white giant...

I hope you have enjoyed the pictures...you can find a few more pictures and information about the An-225 on my website here...

Comments are welcome...

Regards
Gerald

Nice Pics of the 225!
I hope to see her in the next years.
We just have over 30 times the An-124 here in EDDV for a lot of RAF stuff.
